Designed for J-class Topaz to act as a chase boat during regattas and fast people transporter while cruising. Design brief asked for the ability to carry a set of J sails, seat 4 and have a small bathroom, while keeping the nose down at lower speeds in chase boat mode. In addition to that the rib had to fit in a standard 40ft container. All these requirements were met and the rib performs well throughout the speed range and has good manoeuvrability in port.
