J8 Topaz Tender
When J-class Topaz was looking to replace their deck stored tender, the obvious choice was to build a little sister to the Chase Boat we designed earlier for Topaz. The maximum dimensions of this design were determined by the storage location on the foredeck of Topaz. The new tender had to fit in between the rig and inner forestay, while the profile had to be relatively low in order to clear the sails.In order to be ready for some long range cruising with the mothership, the new tender had to be outboard powered with a practically clean layout. Styling is of course in line with her bigger sister and she has some nice aluminium details, including a steering post with integrated ski line towing point.
